[2023/10/06 16:27] Sonja Bikergrrl: By now you're getting used to the way going down a path seems to lead to a private/sealed away area without any apparant transition. This time, you wind up in a clearing in a forest, outside a big farmhouse. There's a cage with a boy and a girl inside, shouting for help, and a goblin in a peasant dress and pinafore stirring a bubbling cauldron. "Heh, heh, heh! Gonna eat well today!"

[2023/10/06 16:28] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: The peasant is doing her cooking outside the farmhouse?
[2023/10/06 16:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblin looks up from the cauldron - and yes, you recognize this one from before! "I'm gonna cook these brats and eat 'em!"
[2023/10/06 16:29] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): walks up following Debben and Leesha, "Why do you have those children in a cage like that ?"
[2023/10/06 16:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: And yes, she is.
[2023/10/06 16:30] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblin smiles at Dahlia. "Because they're gonna be cooked!"
[2023/10/06 16:32] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at her."Why are they gonna be cooked. I mean what is the reasoning in the first place?"
[2023/10/06 16:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblin cackles and gives the cauldron a big stir. "Because I'm the evil witch and there's nothing you can do about it! Mwah hah ha!"
[2023/10/06 16:34] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben is personally quite suspicious of that, and goes to inspect the farmhouse while leesha bothers the witch. Give the witch -two- problems to be worried about.
[2023/10/06 16:34] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): put her hands on her hips and looked sternly to the goblin stirring the pot, "There is alot we could do about it and you need to let those children go now you evil little thing"

[2023/10/06 16:36] Alicia Frakture: Leesha approaches the Goblin and looks down at her."You sure you wanna do that?"
[2023/10/06 16:38] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblin ignores Debben, who about now is discovering that the house is in fact made of gingerbread. But it's quite stale and mouldy, it's not exactly a good choice of material for building a house. The goblin cackles and jumps round to face Leesha and Dahlia, brandishing a dagger. "Oh, you wanna stop me... well maybe I'll be cooking YOU, instead!"

[2023/10/06 16:41] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben pulls open the door to the mouldy gingerbread house and stands clear of whatever gross it might release in the process.

[2023/10/06 16:47] Sonja Bikergrrl: Leesha finds the cage is quite solid, to the point of not having any obvious door. Debben finds the house full of gingerbread decorations, gingerbread furniture and various gingerbread devices. And Dahlia manages to boot the witch/goblin straight into the cauldron.
[2023/10/06 16:48] Alicia Frakture: Leesha is going to try and lift the cage just in case it has no bottom
[2023/10/06 16:48] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): /me moves to take the stirring spoon it had used and stir the pot well with the deserving goblin now becoming stew, "This is turning out to be quite the nice day indeed!"
[2023/10/06 16:48] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben, noticing the witch being booted, pulls the door back with her and walks up to lid the cauldron with it before she gets out.
[2023/10/06 16:49] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblin-witch screams like a banshee and glares at Dahlia, standing in the bubbling broth. "Killed in my own cauldron!!!! Huh!" There's the magical tinkle, and the goblin-witch vanishes - to be replaced by a pixie hovering over the bubbling broth. "Wow! Dahlia... I had NO idea you had that in you... and you broke my curse, sweetie!"

[2023/10/06 16:53] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Dahlia, you're such trickster. I'm so going to prank you after this!" The pixie then speaks to everyone: "I can tell you it was Dahlia who hid the magic book from the evil magic goblin. He was very cross about that! Now I got to go, this has made me hungry!"
[2023/10/06 16:54] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Huh." Debben looks over at Dahlia. "And I thought they were looking for mine this whole time."
[2023/10/06 16:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: Would you believe the wibbly-wobbly 80s' video transition, and you reappear at the six pathways with the woodcutter.
[2023/10/06 16:55] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at them."Wait is this the same evil Magic Goblin that made the zombie explode?"

[2023/10/06 16:59] Sonja Bikergrrl: You come to see what looks like a stereotypical fairy castle (think Disney), with seven dwarves hunkered down behind a low rise looking at the castle.

[2023/10/06 17:00] Sonja Bikergrrl: The dwarves turn to look as you appear behind them. "Adventurers! They've got the smarts to rescue Snow White!"
[2023/10/06 17:01] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben visibly relaxes to finally be in the presence of others like her kind for what seems like the first time in months. "What happened with the Snow?"
[2023/10/06 17:01] Alicia Frakture: Leesha points to Debben and Dahlia."they got the smarts." And who or what is a snow white/

[2023/10/06 17:02] Sonja Bikergrrl: "An evil witch came and spirited her to the castle of trickery! You got to be real smart to get through there. Snow White is the fairest Princess in the land, you've got to rescue her!"

[2023/10/06 17:05] Sonja Bikergrrl: The dwarves nod and look expectantly, and points to the open entrance of the castle. "We don't know... tricky ones, we reckon!"

[2023/10/06 17:08] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Would there happen to be... a back way to the castle? Some sort of underground tunnel they won't expect people to use?"

[2023/10/06 17:10] Sonja Bikergrrl: The dwarves look at each other and shrug. "....S'pose..." one mummbles.
[2023/10/06 17:11] Alicia Frakture: Are we over thinking this? I mean it's a castle of tricks. we wont seem to have an issue until we enter.
[2023/10/06 17:11] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "It's a castle of tricks, what better counter trick then to run the gauntlet backwards?"
[2023/10/06 17:11] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Think we could dig an entrance, to help save your beloved Snow White?"

[2023/10/06 17:12] Sonja Bikergrrl: The dwaves look surprised. "Dig? That'd take... days, weeks!"

[2023/10/06 17:17] Alicia Frakture: Leesha smiles and shakes her head." Looks like front door is the only way."If you wanna do the invisibility thing we can but for now let's just go."

[2023/10/06 17:18] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben ponders, not wanting to be defeated by the single directional rules of this place. "Could you, paint up a fake wall from cloth? Then we have an option if we need to hide from something."

[2023/10/06 17:19] Sonja Bikergrrl: simple directional rules are simple.

[2023/10/06 17:24] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: With exasperation, Debben sighs at the dwarves inability to contribute to the solutions to their own problems, and falls in with the group heading up to the castle.
[2023/10/06 17:26] Sonja Bikergrrl: The castle gates are wide open and lead into a rather nice courtyard. There's a pool of water with a raised plinth in the middle, trees, flowers, a -very- large goblin with an equally large sword, standing before a large doorway, and, a portcullis dropping down behind you.
[2023/10/06 17:27] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblin, who easily stands six feet tall, is one of the goblins from before. They wave, in a friendly way. "Oh, hi, you made it here!"

[2023/10/06 17:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: "This is the first puzzle room. When you're ready, I'll explain the puzzle, but after that, you got five minutes to solve the puzzle, or, or... " the goblin looks embarassed... "... or... I have to sort of kill you... so I hope you solve the puzzle!"

[2023/10/06 17:59] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: To the brim, she does this. "And then use that to fill the 3 liter jug. The 5 liter jug now has 2 liters in it."

[2023/10/06 18:00] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: We have 2, then we dump both jugs back into the lake, and repeat the process, adding another 2 liters to the plinth.

[2023/10/06 18:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: "The cooking pot isn't valid."

[2023/10/06 18:09] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben closes her eyes, working the options in her head, pondering ways to perhaps, use the 3L into the 5L twice, which would leave the 3L with a single liter in it.
[2023/10/06 18:09] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Then we can dump the 5L, pour the 3L contents of one liter into the 5L
[2023/10/06 18:09] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Refilll the 3L and add it's contents to the 5L, which should be four.

[2023/10/06 18:11] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblin looks very happy, as the door beside it swings open. "Well done, you solved that puzzle, you're really smart!"
[2023/10/06 18:11] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: The zeroth solution is to pour water very very slowly so that the checker catches the moment when you hit 4L naturally.

[2023/10/06 18:15] Sonja Bikergrrl: Beyond the door, you can see there's a simple chamber. A door, with two skeletons standing there, one on each side. A pillar with a very prominent button, and an hourglass nearby.
[2023/10/06 18:15] Alicia Frakture: Any rules written or instructions from the skeletons?
[2023/10/06 18:16] Sonja Bikergrrl: Nothing you can see, not yet, not from outside.
[2023/10/06 18:16] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: What state is the hourglass in?
[2023/10/06 18:16] Alicia Frakture: Leesha enters
[2023/10/06 18:16] Sonja Bikergrrl: Standing upright.
[2023/10/06 18:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: Upon entry, the two skeletons come to life, and march forwards to attack. Roll for initiative.
[2023/10/06 18:17] Alicia Frakture: Since Leesha is the only one in the room.."You two stay out."
[2023/10/06 18:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: Leesha goes first.
[2023/10/06 18:18] Alicia Frakture: Leesha is just gonna go for a haymaker on the closest skeleton.

[2023/10/06 18:18] Alicia Frakture: nope bare fist. Havent pulled the wrench out yet

[2023/10/06 18:19] Sonja Bikergrrl: A good solid punch shatters the skeleton into bones flying in all directions.
[2023/10/06 18:20] Alicia Frakture: Leesha is gonna draw the wrench this time, hoping for another swing
[2023/10/06 18:21] Sonja Bikergrrl: The other skeleton claws at Leesha, but misses. And then the button on the pillar starts flashing a bright red, and a voice booms out... "PUSH TO RESET! COUNTDOWN STARTED." And the top bulb of the hourglass is suddenly full of sand, that gushes rapidly into the lower bulb.

[2023/10/06 18:21] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben watches the bones flying, spear at the ready, and inspecting the room for hidden pressure plates or moving bits.

[2023/10/06 18:22] Sonja Bikergrrl: same for the skeleton.... a third of the sand has poured now, and you can hear a whirring and a clicking... no obvious pressure plates.

[2023/10/06 18:25] Sonja Bikergrrl: the dice gods smile on Leesha... the second skeleton is smashed apart. Bones fly everywhere.
[2023/10/06 18:26] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben is going to move and smach the skeleton with... oh, Leesha got it. "Grab their skulls and femurs so they can't re-assemble right."
[2023/10/06 18:27] Sonja Bikergrrl: Dahlia presses the button and... the bones disappear, literally fading from view. The whirring and clicking stops, and the hourglass is suddenly empty of sand. Then, two fresh skeletons appear on either side of the door... their skulls turning to face you.
[2023/10/06 18:27] Sonja Bikergrrl: Roll intiative again, I guess!
[2023/10/06 18:28] Sonja Bikergrrl: dead heat... okay, actions?
[2023/10/06 18:28] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Gah! DOn't hit the button!"
